On Saturday, during the solemn reception dedicated to the 931st anniversary of Ryazan, the title “Honorary Citizen of Ryazan” was awarded to Vladimir K., a member of the Union of Architects of Russia.
Vladimir Vasilyevich spent about 34 years in Ryazan, working from 1979 to 1992 as one of the leading architects of the institute “Ryazangrazhdanproekt”, which carried out mass design projects in the region.
From 1992 to 2013 he served in the city administration as deputy head of the department – deputy chief architect of Ryazan, while continuing his creative work and mentoring young architects.
He was the chief architect of numerous implemented projects, including the Center of Special Communications and Information of the FSO Russia, the Sberbank building on Mayakovsky Street, the bank building at the intersection of Lenin and Voznesenskaya streets, the trade‑office center at the corner of Pervomaysky prospect and Pozhalostina Street, and the “Cruise” shopping centre on Esenin Street. He also led the design of residential complexes such as Michurin, Margelov, the Levitsky club house, Tatlin, Parusa, Na Voznesenskoy, and Metropark.
